Every year in mid October a transformation happens at the Spring Grove Soda Pop Factory.  Walls are put in place, false ceilings go up, cob webs appear and the spooks come out of the wood work as the seemingly safe pop factory becomes the “Haunted Pop Factory”. 

It all started a few years ago.  We had been setting up a small haunting at the factory on Halloween to give the kids a thrill.  Initially it was just a small group of sadistic adults in costume scarring little children and handing out candy.  But as we watched the faces and heard the comments from those who dared to venture in we decided that we could do this bigger and better.  We also realized that it was going to take a lot more than a hand full of adults to do it.  So we enlisted the help of the youths in the community.  Each year a youth group is chosen to assist in the haunting.  They are there for the initial set up, they transform into monsters and spooks during the nights we are open and they are there to help tear down and put away after it is all over.  All the proceeds then go to the youth group for their pet projects.  It takes about 2-3 weeks to set up, about 12 hours to tear down and anywhere from 25-30 spooks each night we are open.  A nominal fee is charged at the door.  Call for details.
